Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 April 2026

CaseChaser ("we", "us") helps individuals in the UK track communication with their solicitor. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. We comply with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, password (hashed), authentication tokens.
  • Case data you enter: case type, solicitor name, contact dates, notes and any documents you upload.
  • Payment data: handled by Stripe. We store a transaction reference only — never your card details.
  • Technical data: basic device, browser and usage logs to keep the service secure.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the service (tracking, chasers, deadlines, checklists).
  • To process your £9.99 unlock payment via Stripe.
  • To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
  • To respond to support requests.

3. Legal basis

We process your data to perform the contract you have with us, to comply with legal obligations, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the processors needed to run CaseChaser: our hosting and database provider, and Stripe for payments. We do not sell your data.

5. Retention

We keep your case data for as long as your account is active. You can archive or delete cases at any time. Payment records are kept for 6 years to meet UK accounting requirements.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Contact us at hello@casechaser.app.

7. Important notice

CaseChaser is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Information you enter is stored to help you organise your own case.
